Pennington's Pristine Coastline
Our Commitment to the Coast
The coastline is the heart of Pennington, a ribbon of golden sand that defines our town. Our premier beach, Pennington Main Beach, is proud to hold Blue Flag status, an international award given to beaches that meet the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and environmental management.
The Conservancy plays a vital role in protecting this precious asset. We run extensive dune rehabilitation projects all along the coastline to prevent erosion and protect the delicate ecosystem. Our litter-free beach initiative, with bins placed at all public exits, helps ensure our shores remain pristine for both residents and wildlife.

Nature's Grand Spectacles
The Sardine Run
During the winter months, Pennington becomes a prime location to witness the incredible natural phenomenon of the Sardine Run, as vast shoals migrate up the coast, attracting dolphins, sharks, and gannets.
Humpback Highway
In the spring, our coastline turns into a whale highway. Visitors can often spot migrating Humpback whales breaching and playing just offshore as they journey to their breeding grounds.
The Tidal Pool
For those seeking a safe and calm swimming experience, the well-maintained tidal pool at Main Beach offers a perfect spot for families and swimmers of all ages to enjoy the ocean.
